You may or may not remember Jean Waltrip who ran the Williamsburg-Jamestown airport in ####ia. She just passed away after a long illness.She really cared for all of us in aviation here and will be really missed.There was a huge reception at the airport after the funeral service which filled the church and it was really a great get-together that brought many of us together again tho' obviously sad too. The last airplane she purchased flew by in salute and then there was a missing woman formation. It brought tears to all our eyes as she really personified the aviation community here. Patty,I saw you years ago in Dayton Oh, when I took my Dad to the Dayton air show. I was amazed at your skills (as is everyone) but even more pleased that you were close to my age. You've given me hope to acquire my pilot's license which my Dad hoped I would do. I saw your plane at Oshkosh but unfortunately, due to weather on Friday, was not able to see you fly.
